Chibuzor Okoye, reports that the event which attracted Aguleri sons and daughters, government officials, traditional rulers, captains of industry and well wishers was also used by Eze Chukwuemeka Eri to bless Aguleri Land, Anambra State, Ndigbo and Nigeria at large.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Udokwu, who was conferred with the chieftaincy title of “Onye ana agba nkili Iduu Eri kingdom” said that Governor Obiano is mindful of the importance of the culture and tradition of Ndi Anambra.
This he noted made the Governor institute the Anambra cultural heritage festival in order to afford Ndi Anambra the opportunity to showcase their rich culture to the world every year.
He further stated that his new chieftaincy title was a clear indication that the traditional institution recognizes the importance of entertainment and assured that he will continue to impact positively on the lives of people and prayed God to bless the Royal Father.
Earlier, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri explained that the event was designed to commemorate the arrival of Eri, the progenitor of the Igbo race at Agbanabo Ezu N’Omambala and prayed for the peace and stability of the State, Ndigbo and Nigeria in general.
On his part, the traditional ruler of Nteje Igwe Rowland Odegbo, called on Ndigbo to always remember their roots and also prayed for the peace, long life and good health of Eze Chukwuemeka Eri.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion included the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Utilities and Water Resources, Chief Obi Anesodo, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, his Umuoba Anam counterpart, Igwe George Ekwealor, Miss Tourism Nigeria 2015 who was also conferred with the Chieftaincy title of “Ada eji Eje Mba, Iduu Eri kingdom”, Miss Ifeoma Sharon Anya” among others, while the highlight was the conferment of Chieftaincy titles on other deserving individuals by Eze Chukwuemeka Eri.
